When in Cape Town, it is imperative that you experience a sunset, have sun downer drinks and capture a few moments whilst the sun sets.
A sunset on a Beach
Bloubergstrand is an incredible spot to take sunset photos at. It has a view of Robben Island and Table Mountain, as well as incredible beaches. And if you’re one to just sit back, relax and take in all Bloubergstrand and the sunset has to offer, the beach has a promenade with loads of places to sit, and is actually packed with people who just stop to experience the sunset. Blue Peter is also an excellent spot to have sundowners at and to just relax on the lawn with your picnic blanket and enjoy a glass of wine while the sun sets.
A sunset at a vineyard in Franschoek
Whilst you’re in the Western Cape, visiting a wine farm is a must. Dieu Donnè Vineyards has the most spectacular view of the mountain range and its vineyards.
Unfortunately wine tasting was already closed for the day, but they were so welcoming and invited us for a glass of wine on the lawn in front of their vineyards at their restaurant. The lawn was packed with people enjoying a class of Dieu Donnè wine before they head to the restaurants’ terrace for dinner.
The Western Cape is blessed in a abundance with the perfect sunset. These were my two top picks for capturing the perfect sunset photograph.
