10 Photos that will inspire you to visit the Western Cape.

Recently we took a road trip from Johannesburg to Cape Town, stopping over at towns along the way in the Eastern Cape and the Western Cape.

The western Cape is picturesque everywhere you look with white sandy beaches, a deep blue ocean and its white buildings. Herewith my top 10 photos that will inspire you to visit the Western Cape.

  1. Our first stop in the Western Cape was Stilbaai. Stilbaai’s harbour is the most picturesque and quaint harbour I have ever seen. I couldn’t resist to get my camera out and start snapping away at the colourful little boats floating in the water. Stilbaai’s harbour is completely unspoiled.

2. Our next stop was Cape Agulhas, which is situated at the southern-most tip of  Africa. Beautiful rocky beaches and spectacular view points, one being the shipwreck.

3. Cape Town… Mother City!  In Cape Town the list of instragramble spots is endless. First on this list was Bloubergstrand’s beach. During our visit, there was an enormous event being hosted on this beach. Colourful kites in abundance were scattered along the ocean and its shoreline as the Red Bull King of the Air competition took place.

4. Cape to Cuba, is a restaurant situated in Kalk Bay and is a photographer’s paradise. They have truly captured a Cuban Vibe, from having their famous Paella for two with Mojitos, to sitting with your feet in the sand enjoying a cuban cigar. Cape to Cuba is an escape to Cuba without having to climb on to a plane to experience it’s energetic vibe. A place I go back to when ever I’m in the area.

5. Although we visited Muizenberg on a dreary morning, we still decided to walk down to the colourful houses on the beach and take a few snaps regardless of the weather. The colourful houses are a perfect opportunity to capture breathtaking photographs regardless of the weather conditions.

6. Llandudno’s beach in Cape Town is spectacular for photography. With it’s flat beach, soft white sand and flat sea. It’s post card pretty.

7. White, powdery sand on a beach just after Melkbosstrand, where it seems you can walk for kilometers on end. Uninterrupted views with not another person in sight.

8. On top of the world! Although R500 to get to the top of Table Mountain seems a lot, it is worth every cent. A better view than this will be hard to find.

9. Feel like the rich and famous, and take a stroll on Clifton Beach. Turquoise  water in front of you and mansions behind you. The type of beach that draws crowds. Don’t just drive past, pack your swimming costume, towel and sunblock,  because you’ll want to spend the day basking in the sun.
